Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Support

We support Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Web and Datacenter Edition in all our dedicated servers.

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Support

We've installed Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 in all our shared servers. It is enabled automatically when you enabled ASP.NET 2.0 in Helm control panel.

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 contains many new features building incrementally upon .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.0, and includes .NET Framework 2.0 service pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.0 service pack 1.

.NET Framework 3.5 builds incrementally on the new features added in .NET Framework 3.0. For example, feature sets in Windows Workflow Foundation (WF), Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and Windows CardSpace. In addition, .NET Framework 3.5 contains a number of new features in several technology areas which have been added as new assemblies to avoid breaking changes. They include the following:

• Deep integration of Language Integrated Query (LINQ) and data awareness. This new feature will let you write code written in LINQ-enabled languages to filter, enumerate, and create projections of several types of SQL data, collections, XML, and DataSets by using the same syntax.
  
• ASP.NET AJAX lets you create more efficient, more interactive, and highly-personalized Web experiences that work across all the most popular browsers.
  
• New Web protocol support for building WCF services including AJAX, JSON, REST, POX, RSS, ATOM, and several new WS-* standards.
  
• Full tooling support in Visual Studio 2008 for WF, WCF, and WPF, including the new workflow-enabled services technology.
  
• New classes in .NET Framework 3.5 base class library (BCL) that address many common customer requests.
  

Increase Domain Registration Price from $8.88/y to $9.99/y

In April 2007 the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) approved price increases for certain domain registries. Domain registries VeriSign, Afilias, Neulevel and Public Interest Registry applied for price increases and received approval and will be raising their wholesale prices to all ICANN-accredited registrars. In light of that decision, Database Mart LLC will adjust the domain registration price from $8.88/year to $9.99/year effective October 14, 2007.

New Helm 4.x Server Cluster

We've set up a new Helm 4.x server cluster in our Houston data center. Here are some new features. The new cluster comes with super fast SCSI servers and latest software (SmarterMail 4, PHP 5, Perl, Pythin and MySQL 5).

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Support

We've installed Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 in all our IIS web servers.
The Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 (formerly WinFX), is the new managed code programming model for Windows. It combines the power of the .NET Framework 2.0 with four new technologies: Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), Windows Workflow Foundation (WF), and Windows CardSpace (WCS, formerly “InfoCard”). Use the .NET Framework 3.0 today to build applications that have visually compelling user experiences, seamless communication across technology boundaries, the ability to support a wide range of business processes, and an easier way to manage your personal information online. This is the same great WinFX technology you know and love, now with a new name that identifies it for exactly what it is – the next version of Microsoft’s development framework.

Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX 1.0 Support

We've installed Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX 1.0 in all our shared hosting servers. ASP.NET AJAX is a free framework for quickly creating a new generation of more efficient, more interactive and highly-personalized Web experiences that work across all the most popular browsers.

With ASP.NET AJAX, you can:

* Create next-generation interfaces with reusable AJAX components.
* Enhance existing Web pages using powerful AJAX controls with support for all modern browsers.
* Continue using Visual Studio 2005 to take your ASP.NET 2.0 sites to the next level.
* Access remote services and data directly from the browser without writing a ton of complicated script.
* Enjoy the benefits of a free framework with technical support provided by Microsoft.

w3 JMail Professional v4.5 Support

We've purchased and installed w3 JMail Professional v4.5 in all our servers. Thanks to w3 JMail it is now possible to send and retrieve e-mail from any client without the use of a mail program. w3 JMail can be used by developers to send and receive e-mail from their ASP code or Windows program in a very simple way. Not only is it possible to send e-mails, w3 JMail now also features retrieval of e-mails, encryption and advanced massmailing features.

Email Server Upgraded from SmarterMail 2.6 to 3.3

We've upgraded our email server from SmarterMail 2.6 to 3.3. The third major release of SmarterMail further enhances the features that have made SmarterMail a front-runner in the Windows mail server market. Here are the new features.

1) Updated Interface - The streamlined web interface for SmarterMail 3.x now includes elements of AJAX, which means that webmail performs more like a desktop application. A full-featured skinning system allows you to incorporate your own design elements into the interface, thereby helping with corporate branding and further increasing the comfort level of your users.

2) Calendaring and Tasks - SmarterMail 3.x includes a very robust calendaring system. With notification schedules, tasks, and recurrence rules, SmarterMail 3.x can completely replace your desktop calendaring solution.

Antivirus for Email Server

We offer free antivirus service for all our email domains. The service will scan, detect and remove any threats from the email messages and all types of attachments (including archives, exe files, embedded files, etc). The product we used is F-Prot Antivirus. It is an easy-to-use multi-component security software package protecting the Windows systems at all times against viruses, worms, Trojans and other malicious software.

F-Prot Antivirus for Windows currently detects more than 240285 known viruses, worms, trojans and other threats against the security of your system and your data. In addition, the program's innovative and integrated heuristic detection capabilities provide the best possible protection against unknown future threats that may emerge.

The email will be removed and a notification email will be sent to the sender if the email includes a virus. Please submit a technical support ticket if you experience any problems.
